Christmas – A time of Hope

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end, Isaiah 9:6-7

Its Christmas once again.  A time of giving, a time of sharing and above all a time to love and to remember the greatest love of all.  The love of our Creator, our Heavenly Father ‘Elohim’.  Bible explains that ‘For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life John 3:16. The Word expantiates further that He has loved us even before we knew Him, when we were sinners, when we disowned Him, when we lived selfishly, lusting and pleasing ourselves only. Yet He was patiently knocking on the door of our heart, to see whether we will hear Him and open up for Him to enter.

Christmas means a lot of things to me and amazingly still baffles me why Jesus the Son of God will leave His throne in Heaven and come to earth just for me!. Christmas is a time for us to remember the joy of His entrance into this world, the humility He had to be born as a carpenter’s son in a manger. He could have come as a son of a King with ‘golden spoon’,  privileged to just the rich and noble, but He chose not to.

Christmas means ‘Light of the world’, it means ‘hope to the hopeless, it means ‘healing to the sick’, it means ‘laughter for sorrow, it means ‘dancing for mourning’.  For Christmas was when Jesus came into the world of hopelessness and brought hope. The beginning of good times, the season of fruitfulness. Christmas is when our darkness was lit up by a ‘star’ JESUS CHRIST!.  A joy to the world.

Christmas was A night when our Saviour was born, when angels visited earth with songs of joy to announce the birth of the ‘Deliverer of the world’. The Prince of Peace, our burden removing, yoke destroying God. Whom all things, powers, spirits, bow before. The King of all Kings. Christmas brings tears to my eyes, when I remember His Sacrifice for me to live a victorious life.

Sadly Christmas has now become commercialised it is more Santa Claus and exchanging of gifts, forgetting that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

We now witness a world of hostility, a world with no PEACE, a world where false religions terrorise the nations, a world where Christians are persecuted to death just because of the ‘gospel of love’.  Our prayer is that the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be proclaimed in every nation and pronounced on every tongue, then the Prince of Peace shall reign again, in a world where there will be no war nor hatred for one another.

 I implore you never to get tired of telling this beautiful history to your children and grandchildren of how the Son of God walked on this earth over 2,000 years ago, JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH, who still lives and reigns forever more.

Perhaps this is the first time you have heard about JESUS CHRIST, I invite you to accept Him into your life and it will be the best decision you have ever made. He is LIFE and SAVIOUR.   He knows you even before you were born and all He is doing is waiting for YOU to invite Him into your world. He is the one that can take away your pain and shame, He is the one that can fill the emptiness of your life, for He knows ALL things and can do ALL things. His name is the ‘I AM THAT I AM’.

To you all we say

 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR, MAY THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS AND HIS COMING BE YOURS ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE. (AMEN).  REJOICE, REJOICE AND AGAIN I SAY REJOICE!

I leave you with Ceelo Green’s ‘Mary did you know’. Its a song that always brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.
