This past month has been like never before, never have we ever experienced such horror as this, you will even be forgiven to think you were actually watching a horror movie, surely this can’t be real, people dropping like flies dead on streets of Wuhan. I remembered watching a Denzel Washington film called Fallen, where each touch passes the soul of a killer into someone new and thinking yep its only a film, only 10 years after to see it come alive before our eyes.  Not only is this virus contagious, but it’s a killer passed onto someone without the knowledge of even having it. A walking timebomb, moving at a super-fast lighting speed hopping from one country to another. A pandemic nightmare!.

COVID-19 The virus outbreak started in February 2020 in Wuhan an unexplainable pandemic year of global viral infection, sickness and death. The disease that snuck in from China suddenly crossed over to every Country, the virus called corona because of its crown like microscopic view, an ‘angel of death’ passing from one person to another like lightning. Just like the time of Passover. We are looking towards the Blood of Jesus to deliver us all from the bondage of death. Already within 4 months of its existence over 40,000 people have died.

WHY THE COVID -19 PANDEMIC?

Only God knows why these pandemic plague happens, but we trust God that no evil will befall us no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent. 11For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91

• Asian Flu: 1957-1958 The Asian Flu pandemic was another global showing for influenza. With its roots in China, the disease claimed more than 1 million lives.

• Swine Flu pandemic: 2009-2010 killed between 151,700 and 575,400 people

• Ebola epidemic: 2014-2016 Ebola ravaged West Africa, with 28,600 reported cases and 11,325 deaths.

The book of Psalms has always been my favourite spiritual solace and the life of King David especially my inspiration. As a shepherd, a singer and psalmist, an adulterer, a murderer, a King to being above all the favourite of God, says Jehovah himself (dearest to God’s heart) 1 Samuel 13:14.

A couple of years back I was admitted for one month in the hospital with a disfigured face, it was so bad, I couldn’t leave my bed, once in a while when I took the courage to walk around the hospital, I could feel people’s eyes burning into me, I was scaring them, I could see it in their eyes.

Here I was in my prime years struck down with a disease the doctors couldn’t explain. Lying down in my bed every night I will stare at the ceiling, cry and cry till tears couldn’t come out. Why me?.. I am a good person, I love God and my brother’s keeper as best as I can, surely this shouldn’t happen to me. Disfigured for life and it had to be my face!.. A month before this tragedy happened I had bought myself an Ipod and bought The book of Psalms mp3.  I will listen to it throughout the night. I walked through every chapter, put myself in every picture and realised that ‘there is no situation that is unique to man’…It has all happened before to someone, somewhere.

TAKING GOD FOR GRANTED

Time and time, we take God for granted, abuse His love, turn our backs, indifferent to Sin, forsaking our first love. Then Sin catches up with us with tribulations, pestilence, famine, then we run back to God seeking mercy and the loving and merciful God with an open arm welcomes the prodigal son back home.

The last decade has been the worst morally, Homosexuality becoming legal, same sex marriage, transgender, Christians being persecuted for their faith, Churches appointed Gay priests, Abortions on the rise.

COVID 19 – A RESET BUTTON OPPORTUNITY FROM GOD

and the peoples plot in vain?

and throw off their shackles.”

Psalm 2 explains our current situation but thank God for His mercy for he has promised us that out of this turmoil and chaos. He will give us victory and cause all our lack to become surplus.

I want to encourage you today to take strength in the Lord and His Words. Listen less to the worldly news that has nothing good to offer but death and focus on Jesus. Fix your eyes on His word, meditate in it, get a book write down verses that relate to your situation, read it. Write prayer points from the book of psalms. Fall in Love with your creator all over again. Learn of your maker. Who is Jehovah Elohim?,

Who Is El ELyon? Who is Jehovah Gibbor or Jehovah Rapha, Understand the many facets of God, the many breasted one. Spend a day Just studying Jehovah Elohim, the all-Wise creator, stand in awe of His creativity, the sun that rotates on one axis and never drops, the moon that remained in the same position from creation, the earth, the beautiful colours, number of animals, the anatomy of a human being and then read psalm 19 and you will find for a whole day you can just sit there just worshipping God.

Prayer is the only communication access you have to God. It is the Key to spiritual realm. However, effective prayer has its formula, which is using the ‘sword of the spirit’ the Word of God. This is the only language the enemy knows can overcome, paralyse, uproot, bind and destroy him and the devil will try all its might that you don’t do it.  Hence too busy!.

Prayer is NOT a spiritual gift, it is something you dedicate time and effort to learn and develop. There is no formula to passing an exam than to study. I will encourage you to buy books. EBay 2^nd hand books or amazon are mostly under £3. Online manuals are available for intercessors.

FEAR NOT FOR I AM THE LORD AND I CHANGETH NOT

The bible tells us that the devil is a roaring lion looking for whom to devour’. I want to encourage you to listen to National news once a day and use the rest of the day to equip yourself as a general in Gods army. Remember we wrestle not against flesh or blood. We need to put all our thoughts and imagination under Gods authority.

Put your thinking in check, does it align with Gods promises, if not bind it and send it back to the pit of hell where it belongs.

I am a testimony today of the Lords goodness, the ‘leper’ that eventually became a ‘princess’ from beast to beauty. Till today the doctors couldn’t find what went wrong, except tell me they think its an insect bite!..

Please brethren be encouraged in the Lord, perhaps you are going through financial difficulties, marital issues, sickness, emotional or mental trauma. Rust God that this too shall pass. Seek Gods face in prayer and then seek man’s counsel, tell God to order your steps and lead you in the path of righteousness.

⁷ I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:

He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father.

and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
