For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?
Esther 4:14
I have always loved the story of Queen Esther, a woman of grace and favor, who was brought from obscurity into limelight, from nobody, an orphan, a jew, a refugee, an immigrant with no background into a foreign land. Perhaps am talking to you, an ethnic minority, a foreigner, a woman, a wife, a mother who has always thought it best to ‘stay silent’ not ‘rock the boat’, ‘turn a blind eye’, not offend anyone, best to be nice, best not to be bullied, best not to be the odd one out and be counted as a trouble maker!..
This is the position Queen Esther found herself, after all, she was just an orphan, looked after by her uncle Mordecai and God favored so that out of hundreds of damsels, the king handpicked her to be his wife and Queen to a Nation. Just started a new life, the eye of the King, envy of all the women in the nation, she suddenly has everything in her possession to do as she pleases, life couldn’t be better. In this day and age this will be compared to Prince Harry‘s wife, Meghan Duchess of Sussex a mixed-race South African actress marrying into British royalty family. However, in Queen Esther’s case, nobody knew she was of Jewish descent except for her uncle.
Then a time came the bible tells us that the Jewish communities lives were about to be extinct by one individual Haman who was bent on destroying the Jews, wiping the whole race out of existence, just like Adolf Hitler of our own time who through the Holocaust executed 6 million Jews. The murders were carried out in pogroms and mass shootings; by a policy of extermination through labour in concentration camps; and in gas chambers and gas vans in German extermination camps
This is what Haman’s intention was if not for Mordecai and Queen Esther’s intervention. However, like most people, Esther was comfortable and didn’t have to do anything, after all, if it did happen it wouldn’t affect her directly. Queen Esther also knew she could be killed if she approached the king unannounced, so was reluctant to ‘rock the boat’ and a sound reason not to do so too!.
When Hathach told Mordecai what Esther had said, Mordecai sent her this message: “Don’t think that just because you live in the king’s house you’re the one Jew who will get out of this alive. If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
This message is so relevant in today’s world, where there is Christians persecuted all around the world, Christians been bullied for speaking up for their belief. Christians targeted for their beliefs, Christians encouraged to stay silent, Christians labeled wrongly for speaking up for Christ.
From this story, we learned that if not for Esther’s, intervention of standing up and speaking out, the whole Jewish community would have been wiped off the face of the earth, if not for just ONE PERSON.
The problem we have today is you thinking, your lone voice is nothing, irrelevant, perhaps if I don’t do it, someone else will do it. But like Mordecai, I am here to challenge you.
WHAT IF YOU WERE BORN FOR SUCH A TIME LIKE THIS, WHAT IF IT IS YOUR VOICE THAT WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, WHAT IF GOD IS WAITING ON YOU!…SILENT IS NOT AN OPTION FOR YOU!.
You were giving a voice for a reason, you were given eyes for a reason. Your life is not yours, it belongs to the Lord so use it to His glory. Be THE VOICE, be THE LIGHT in darkness, ARISE AND SHINE, SPEAK OUT AGAINST IMMORALITY, AGAINST SIN, AGAINST ABUSE, AGAINST UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. Be a lone voice in the wilderness and see God elevate you out of obscurity to Glory.
You are not called to be a pessimist but an optimist, not be on the Defence but on the Offence. Your silence means approval of wrongdoing. The wicked walk about on every side, when vileness is exalted among the children of men. Psalm 12:8
Time and time again, I have seen that the people with the loudest voices not necessarily have the answer but are allowed to take the stage because those that know never speak up. AS CHRISTIANS YOU ARE CALLED TO STAND UP FOR GOD IN THE FACE OF OPPRESSION, MOCKERY, AND PERSECUTION

When you lean on God for strength He will give you boldness and utterance to speak the right words at the right time. You just have to rise to the occasion and let the Spirit of God empower you. It says ‘let the weak say I am strong’. God is with you at all times. Be gentle and respectful in all your dealings. Always be ready to share the Gospel.
WE HAVE THE OBLIGATION TO STAND UP FOR GOD
Especially if you are a student, or at work, in a gathering or even in your Church, are you a worker in His Temple, a steward, an elder, a pastor, etc., if you feel they are not doing the will of God. It could be on political issues such as Sexuality, Education, Marriage, Ethical Policies, remember we are overseers of the earth, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the earth Genesis 1:28
Jesus laments that the ‘harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few’. Why not join Gods workers today and BE BOLD, BE COURAGEOUS, LIKE GIDEON, surrender yourself to be a SPOKESPERSON FOR GOD and watch Him give you the right tools to use and send you the right people to accomplish His will.
JESUS IS CRYING OUT TO YOU TODAY, HE IS SAYING: “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Warriors are not born, they are made. They are trained. God is in the business of teaching our hands to war and our fingers to fight. These are days of fierce spiritual warfare and only the very skilled stand any chance of survival.
I pray boldness and sound mind for you, that you will be a vessel of honor, an instrument of Harvest and conversion of souls. A light and a beacon of Hope, an answer to someone’s prayer. Remember if you take a step of faith and surrender yourself to Him: He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow Psalm 18:34. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and stations me upon the heights v33
