1. To Reverence, obey and show gratitude to God our Creator

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD Ex:31:15

Through Genesis we learnt that God created the earth and all that is in it including men in Six days and on the Seventh day He rested. Gen2:2 . This is not because He is tired!, but to put down an example for us to follow as requested by Him Lev 26:2.

By doing this we will be following His wish as a child to His Father. Why is this so important to Him? Perhaps as His creation he wants us to sit back and appreciate His creation. A day to sit back and not think of work but in awe of His handiwork, the birds in the sky, the animals and their breathtaking array of colours, elegance, mightiness and dynamism, from the Lion, the Flamingo to the blue whale, to the delicate butterflies. To discover, unravel, learn more of God, getting to know Him, His nature, His Love, His Sovereignty.

2. Church is the only separated and dedicated House of God

‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD’ Lev 26:2

Church, Temple, Sanctuary is the only built house dedicated to the name of the Lord. It is a Lighthouse, a strong tower, a House of prayer. The first House of God was built by King Solomon whom was given specifications by God, to date it is recorded to be the grandest, expensive building ever built. On the day it was dedicated to God, it was recorded that God came down in a cloud and filled the temple that the congregation ran out in fear! 2Chr5:14

Hannah went to the House of God to pray for a child where God answered her prayer giving her Samuel. The bible says angels go to and fro in His House taking our prayers up to heaven.

Are you troubled in your mind, are you worrying about life, perhaps loneliness or depression, disappointment or God’s favour and blessings, then my friend the best place to be is in God’s presence in His house. He is the God of impossibilities that makes ALL things possible.

King David said, above all his longing in life and desire is to continuously remain in God’s presence. It’s the most beautiful place to be. Sometimes I go into His house and I just cry and cry and cry, because I remember Jesus love and sacrifice for Me.! There is nothing like church!

3.Church is the only House whose purpose and vision is Heavenly Focused

God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”Jn24:4

Unlike an office or an institution whose motto, principles and vision, is based on evidential results, profit maximisation etc, geared to material things, working and capitalising on the five senses of human beings, hence the saying ‘seeing is believing’.

The Church is the ONLY institution that is SPIRITUAL and HEAVENLY focused. Their motto is ‘believing is to see’. This is quite an opposite policy to ‘the world’. It is the only place where FAITH is the ONLY key. Without this it is impossible to know God, as no one has seen HIM, just as much as no one has seen the air we breathe yet we believe it to be there.

Is your mind troubled, battling with loneliness, emptiness, perhaps you need hope, joy, peace. These are things not visible to the eye, so money cannot buy them; they are invisible spirits only achievable through understanding faith and GOD who is the Creator of ALL spirits. My friend you need a CHURCH, visit one today and discover what you are hoping for.

4. Church is where like minded people gather to Discover and learn God’s ways

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD Ish55:8

Church is the only place where people gather to equip, empower, learn and discover the ways of God the Creator through His written words in the Holy Bible. ‘inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. ’2tim3:16.

As Humans are minds have been groomed by environment, parents, culture and society at large, it is mostly geared towards earthly things, amassing things from the outside, unlike the word of God, the Bible and Church teachings, which its principle knowledge is feeding the inner man, transforming your mind to see from the inside, the Spirit man connecting to the Spirit of God for strength and sustenance, through the Holy Spirit. Empowering the subconscious mind to affect and change the subconscious.

Have you got to a cross road where you have given up on life, perhaps suicidal, destitute and disappointed with your life. Believe that it is just temporal and will blow away. Come to the House of God and hear His plans for you, believe that He is more than able to turn your situation around.

5.Church is where you are equipped and empowered to be a blesser, comforter to the world.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Ish6:8

The Church is a progressive movement with a global agenda, every Christian has a heavenly manifesto assigned to them, ‘to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth’. The Bible tells us that the earth is of the lord and all that is in it, He created it and has put us overseers over the land.

The Church equips each individual with the knowledge of the purpose of God to every life, nobody is created by mistake and every person has been sent on earth for one mission or the other, hence our talents and gifting’s. To some He gave one, to some He gave five. You become aware of the awesome power within you, to build, to bless, to be proactive in every way.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me, to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, toproclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners Ish 61:1
